Paris - Day 1

Captain's log stardate 8152012.

Today, I coughed. I fear that I am coming down with Paris Syndrome. For those readers uninformed about Paris syndrome, check out it's highly authentic and reliable wikipedia page.

Or for those too lazy to click on the link and read, it's a psychological disorder affecting visitors of Paris (primarily the Japanese) who find that it does not live up to the popularized image of a perfectly clean and beautiful city alight with mystery and romance. Symptoms include hallucinations, feelings of persecution, anxiety, and most commonly, persistent depression.

Sounds crazy, but it's a real thing! Check out this series of images I took that proves it. WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART

Seriously people what is this?! There isn't even the Eiffel Tower in these pictures! I thought you were supposed to be able to see it from all points in the city!?! Isn't it like the tallest man made structure or something?

On another note, I saw my first signs of parkour in Paris today.

Actually, I also ran into a bunch of guys today doing parkour in the park. I stopped and hung out with them for a bit despite their shaky English and my nonexistent French. Needless to say, they showed me up. Good times, but I neglected to get a picture. Perhaps I'll run into them again and document their existence then!

Okay so it's like three in the morning so I'll wrap it up with a bunch of normal pictures for my fans out there. (READ: HERE YOU GO, MOM, SEE - I'M NOT DEAD!)

Some sort of abandoned Sports center, probably from the Olympics
