Casa Poli is created out of three distinct layers: The skin which serves as an external covering, the rind which contains the circulation and utility spaces, and the core which houses the living spaces of the house.
For my component model I could not simply be separated into these three layers and then call it a day, however.
The inside / outside relationship of the house is far more complex than the layered approach alone would suggest.
Instead of modeling three pure zones, I attached the skin to the rind and broke the rind into pieces that correspond with the spaces beyond the punctures in the skin.
These pieces that resulted from the broken rind all operate independently of each other and each individual piece then snaps into the zones contained beyond, in the core of the house.
